Tordon started with a simple frustration: too many Canadians were being turned away from homeownership — not because they couldn’t afford a mortgage, but because they didn’t fit a spreadsheet.
Self-employed borrowers. Newcomers to Canada. People rebuilding their credit after a tough few years. All of them capable of repaying a mortgage, all of them being shown the door at bank branches.
So we built something different. A brokerage that works across all three lender tiers — A, B, and private — and approaches every client situation as an individual problem to solve, not a checkbox to fail.
Over time, that same philosophy extended to the investment side. The private mortgage network we built for borrowers became an opportunity for investors — people looking for better returns than GICs, backed by the real estate security they understood.
Today, Tordon Mortgages and Tordon Capital Management serve both sides of that equation from our base in Scarborough, Ontario — helping homeowners access financing and helping investors grow their savings. Transparently, honestly, and without the run-around.

The investment division was born from demand — clients asking how they could invest in the same private mortgages Tordon was placing. RRSP and TFSA mortgage investing became available to Ontario investors.
